Festival goers urged to insure possessions

Revellers packing their tents and sleeping bags for Glastonbury are being urged to check their insurance policies.
Bradford & Bingley estimates there will be at least £110 million worth of uninsured items on offer to thieves at this year's festival.
That works out at about £1000 worth of possessions each, all left unattended and uninsured, with many festival goers unaware that their home insurance does not cover them at festivals.
Nigel Asplin, general insurance director for Bradford & Bingley commented: "It is crucial that you check your policies, otherwise there is a real danger that you could be rocked when you don't have the cover you thought."
"Standard home contents insurance usually provides cover only while in the home, which is not much use for camping equipment."
Many festival goers are taking expensive 'must-have' items along with them, such as iPods, mobile phones and digital cameras.
And with tents costing an average of £130, these are not items to be overlooked.
Bradford & Bingley is advising people to never assume that possessions are covered outside of the home and to make sure they pay an extra premium to cover unspecified personal possessions or belongings.
