The International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, held this week at Birmingham's NEC, has seen thousands of motorbike fans converge to celebrate their love of all things on two wheels. Held in association with the Sun newspaper, the international motorbike event has also attracted some of the biggest names in the biking world so far, including current World Superbike champion Troy Corser and former champion James Toseland. The show runs from October 29th to November 6th and along with Ducati's new machines, has so far seen the launch of the eagerly awaited Daytona 675 Triple from Triumph, as well as the Rocket III Classic and the new Scrambler. Ducati has also launched three new bikes the Ducati Monster, the Paul Smart 1000 and the Sport 1000. Honda GP rider Marco Melandri was mobbed by ecstatic fans at the event on Tuesday, after the Telefonica Movistar rider came to sign autographs and face the cameras at the Honda stand. However, the talk of the show was Honda's humanoid robot Asimo, who can walk, climb stairs and talk, as well as responding to simple voice commands. Honda hopes the robot will pave the way in robotics to help humans with menial tasks, such as housework.
