BMW Motorrad UK has announced the launch of the eagerly anticipated BMW K1200 GT and R1200 GS Adventure models in the UK. While many had said producing a replacement for the popular R 1150 GS Adventure would be a task too far, the two new models have been critically acclaimed. Sporting many new and improved features, such as a significant increase in power and torque and an improved off-road capability, BMW have high hopes for the 1200cc R1200 GS Adventure. Meanwhile the 152 hp K 1200 GT is to showcase alongside its Adventure companion. BMW's new Gran Turismo engine has already been used in the 167 hp K1200 S superbike and 163 hp K1200 R naked roadster, but in the K 1200 GT it is to power a genuine touring machine. The K1200 GT boasts many new features, such as 17 per cent more power, 11 per cent more torque and a longer range with the addition of a larger fuel tank. It also has adjustable handlebars and a new brake pad wear indicator system. The launch is to take place at BMW dealer showrooms across the country on March 25th 26th, where customers will have the chance to win a new R1200 GS Adventure motorcycle for free.
