The seven second barrier was broken for the third time in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle history recently.
Antron Brown rode his US Army Suzuki to a 6.983 second run during the first qualifying round of the 19th annual FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals.
Brown reached 191.53 mph during his run.
The rider earned $2,000 and his US Army crew won the Full Throttle Pit Crew Championship Award.
In breaking the seven second barrier, Brown became a member of the prestigious Mickey Thompson 6-Second Pro Stock Bike Club.
The club is a bonus program that any NHRA stock motorcycle competitors have the chance to join at any Powerage Drag Racing Series event.
When eight members are made eligible, the club closes, but there are still five spots open.
Sponsored by Powerade, the 2006 drag racing series kicked off in March and will hold its next even in Brainerd, Minnesota, which will host the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals.
