Carl Spackler gets his wheels

Acclaimed funnyman Bill Murray has teamed up with just-as-acclaimed bike customisers Orange County Choppers to create a bike that would be ridden by his much-loved character Carl Spackler, from Caddyshack.
Anyone who has seen Caddyshack will remember the pitchfork-wielding, dynamite lobbing, grass-growing Spackler, one of cinema's most eccentric groundskeepers.
Now Murray and the strife-torn father-son duo of Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Jr. from the show American Chopper, will attempt to fashion a hog worthy of Spackler.
"It was like it was (Carl's) motorcycle, so it had a little bit of army surplus, a little bit of army ordinance and a little bit of greenskeeper," Murray told The Associated Press in a recent phone interview.
"It was fun. I got to lift something every once in a while."
Grass clipper wheel spinners and a painting of a gopher in a rifle's sights are part of the customisations involved in the project.
The bike, as eccentric as its inspiration, was auctioned at the sixth annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament in St. Augustine, Fla., in May.
And the highest bidder for the bike was Carl Spackler himself – Bill Murray.
