Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat has explained that his recently broken collarbone is the result of a drunken motorcycle mishap in Taiwan.
The accident forced the band to bring in Josh Hubbard of Kingston upon Hull band The Paddingtons, to fill in for Barat on guitar during their present tour of the USA.
A founding member of popular band The Libertines, Barat founded Dirty Pretty Things after the band broke up.
Barat explained his bike accident to the BBC: "I went to karaoke and drunk a lot of sake, came outside, and people were stood out on their motorbikes.
"They were driving Triumphs which was a surprise to me, I asked to have a go and I did, and I fell off.
"I revved it up, and flew off the handle bars, only in a car-park, I didn't endanger anyone but myself."
Though unable to play guitar, according to reviewers Barat put in a lively performance at the bands latest gig in LA last night.
