It doesn't look like there are many gamblers among us, because according to motogp.com, 73 per cent of you think that Valentino Rossi is a likely winner of the Moto GP 2006 world title.
This Sunday sees the penultimate race of the championship at Estoril, Portugal and the riders produced a mixed bag when asked about the prospect.
Nicky Hayden, who Rossi trails by 12 points, said: "It's not just another race. I don't think anyone would be fooled if I were to say that."
"I can't afford anything like clutch slips to reoccur, as recently I've been lucky not to have had a DNF," he added.
Rossi was more laid back, saying: "It's a difficult track, but I've been able to win here with both Yamaha and Honda, in the wet and in the dry."
However, in a separate motogp.com survey, only 20 per cent of 26,000 respondents said they considered Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi or Dani Pedrosa to be realistic contenders for the title.
"The championship is quite far away for me, but third is close," said Capirossi, who rides for Ducati.
Well one thing is for sure, we'll all be watching…
