Pedrosa speeds to the top

MotoGP Rookie of the Year 2006 Dani Pedrosa proved his worth once again as he registered the fastest overall time for this week's test in Jerez, Spain.

As part of the Repsol Honda team, his achievement will surely put him in good stead for when the next championship starts at the end of January.

And Pedrosa - who also managed to score the fastest lap time of the three-day test - rode on various chassis settings and also tried out the 800cc model in preparation for next year.

"Today we worked on just about everything again," the Spaniard said.

"Of course there's still plenty of work to do before the season starts but this was a positive test for us. Now I will relax a little over the winter break," he added.

He managed 94 laps with the fastest lap time of one minute and 39.91 seconds. Trailing just behind him was Valentino Rossi for Yamaha, recording a time of one minute and 40.123 seconds.
