Melandri takes a vow of silence

Poor Marco Melandri. After missing out on third place by one point at the end of this year's MotoGP championship, he celebrated the season's finish by having surgery on his injured arm.
But it doesn't end there, for the Italian Honda rider has also been told not to speak for an entire week after having a polyp removed from his throat. Mmm, sounds like fun.
However, Melandri is determined not to let a little thing like no voice come between him and his fans, for he intends to communicate with them via a magnetic board at the upcoming Bologna Motorshow.
And after the week of silence is up, he will have to take lessons in order to re-learn how to speak.
But it seems like he's ready to do what it takes in order to be at full strength for the 2007 championship, where he will surely be aiming for the title.
Loris Capirossi edged above him to third place in this year's final standings, just behind Valentino Rossi in second and Nicky Hayden who emerged as championship winner.
