The lean-burn petrol engine of the Royal Enfield Bullet Electra can boost riders' power as it contains more than 100 mpg in its tank.
And with the engine being built in conjunction with the Austrian power-train systems firm AVL, you could be forgiven for thinking this model is the epitome of Central European efficiency.
News File reports that the machine is also as economical to buy as it is to power, with fuel consumption figures some 30 to 50 per cent better than petrol engines of the equivalent performance.
According to the site, those who have test-ridden the Bullet all comment on its "astonishing frugality".
Noted experts who have been let loose on the two-wheeled monster include freelance journalist Jim Reynolds and Timandra Harkness, who wrote for the Telegraph.
These two easy riders achieved 106.7 mpg over 189 miles and 81.86 mpg respectively, when riding on the UK's country roads and Spanish mountains, New File indicates.
The group that was to become Royal Enfield Motorcycles first adopted the Enfield label in 1893.
