Ducati 1098 'to have traction control'

For those of you who aspire to race in the MotoGP or World Superbike championships, a new Ducati model could bring you a little closer to that dream.
The folks at Motorcycle News (MCN) have acquired information that suggests the new Ducati 1098 superbike will have traction control - similar to that used in professional racing - for the first time.
Using the Magneti-Marelli engine, the 1098 could potentially give riders the option of using traction control, which limits tyre slippage during acceleration.
MCN made the discovery through a copy of the safety manual for the bike, which is also set to be designed as a limited-edition, more expensive Tricolore version.
However, Ducati spokesperson Francesco Rapisarda remained coy on the subject.
"There is the possibility of fitting traction control to the 1098," he told MCN.
"Maybe in the future," he added.
The 1098 also includes a dreamy combination of Brembo Monobloc brakes with twin under-seat exhausts.
