Education is the way to go, says MIA

Folks at the Motorcycle Industry Association (MIA) have said that they're in support of new government proposals to provide more education for young drivers.
Plans could include road safety and driving skills to be incorporated into the school curriculum, which could contribute to an all-round reduction of road accidents.
The ideas for a younger start to motoring education came after statistics showed that young men aged 17 to 20 years old are about ten times more likely to get themselves killed or at least be seriously injured that older men.
Craig Carey-Clinch, director of public affairs at the MIA, emphasised the importance of making more young people aware of risks related to driving.
"There are benefits to starting driver education while people are still at school, introducing them to the rules, dangers and responsibilities of the road at an earlier age," he said.
To obtain a full motorcycle licence, riders must pass both a practical and theory test - a structure similar to that for car drivers.
