Ducati Marlboro kicks off pre-season press

The Ducati Marlboro team kicked off the pre-season presentations on Wednesday at the Madonna di Campliglio ski resort, with Federico Minoli discussing the upcoming races with much anticipation.

As Ducati's motor president and administrative delegate, Minoli described the team as an "almost magic" combination of technology, engineering and Italian passion.

And speaking about the dream duo of Casey Stoner and Loris Capirossi, he said: "We are very happy about the new team."

Recently-married Stoner was described by Minoli as a representation of the brand's future, while Capirossi was said to form part of Ducati's image.

Stoner is under contract to ride for Ducati in the forthcoming year, with an option to extend the deal further, it was announced in October 2006.

The 2007 MotoGP World Championship will see 800cc bikes used instead of the traditional 990cc models, representing something of a new era for the title race.
