Rugby tackles bike thieves

A gang of inept thieves in Rugby got more than they bargained for when they came up against a new anti-theft measure.
The owner had covered his garden gate with a special paint which stains the clothes of would-be thieves, meaning that the assailants' clothes are now marked.
Although the gang fled when they were disturbed, the owner saw enough to give a good description to police, who are now investigating the incident.
A spokesperson told the Rugby Advertiser: "As a deterrent he had painted the gates with light blue anti-theft paint.
"This is a mixture of grease and gloss paint and although a skin forms over the surface, it fails to set properly."
Police are now following this line of enquiry to track down the would-be bike thieves, who were described as a gang of three or four tracksuited hoodies.
Officers have called on the public to notify them if they believe they have any relevant information on the incident.
