After riding to victory as the fastest rider on the last two days of the second Sepang test, Colin Edwards appears to be confident for the forthcoming championship.
According to motogp.com, the Yamaha YZR-M1 rider cut over a second off his fastest lap from the previous day, followed by team mate Valentino Rossi.
Edwards went on to predict that himself and Rossi could "do a one-two this season", given their performances in the tests and enthusiasm for the coming season.
"The laps have been better than last year," the Texan-born rider said. "Even then we were fast despite the chattering problems."
The upcoming MotoGP Championship is the first to feature bikes with 800cc capacities, as opposed to a previous maximum of 990cc.
Nicky Hayden was last year's winner and looks to have stiff competition once again for the title when it starts on February 25th in Jerez, Spain.
