Those chomping at the bit to purchase Yoshimura's new race kits might be interested to hear of a silencer pipe to be made available in the meantime.
The GSX-R1000 can soon be equipped with a slip-on silencer pipe, which Yoshimura says will reduce noise levels by around six decibels if used with the additional attachment and reduce the bike's weight by a considerable 7.2 kilogrammes, reports Motorcycle News (MCN).
It is self-supporting, which gives "a cleaner look", according to MCN, allowing riders to ditch their pillion footrests and swap the twin silencers and traditional catalytic converter for a smoother ride.
Available in stainless steel, carbon and titanium, the pipes are expected to retail at £417.92, £461.46 and £504.99 respectively, hitting shops at the end of March.
Other products due for release by Yoshimura in 2007 include the R-55 Slip-On Muffler and GSX-R600 rearsets.
