A hard-wearing motorbike tyre has been praised as being the best tyre for wet-weather use, which could be of interest to buyers of motorcycle insurance.
Online magazine motorcyclenews.com reports that Michelin's Pilot Road 2 sport-touring tyre has impressed manufacturers and consumers alike with its sustained grip and longevity.
It reveals that the tyre uses dual-compound technology developed by MotoGP and according to its road tester, handles well in wet weather.
"I'm really impressed with the grip. Even in sub-zero conditions there's more much grip than you'd expect," commented Motor Cycle News road tester Adam Child.
"My [motorbike] is pushing 180bhp at the rear wheel and the tyre just bites, even in the wet."
Mr Child added that it was "possibly the best" road-legal tyre he had trialled in wet weather.
