Nicky Hayden is fully prepared for this weekend's MotoGP race in Qatar, the current world champion told the press at a conference yesterday.
Although he has encountered problems with his new 800cc RC212V bike, the Repsol Honda rider explained that while testing might be one thing, racing is the true way to know where you're really at, reports motogp.com.
And the new regulations, which limit engines from 990cc to 800cc four-stroke models, mean a much more basic target for Hayden.
"It's simple - ride fastest and you win," he explained.
The Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar at the Losail circuit takes place this Saturday, being the second race in an already exciting season.
At 5.4 kilometres, the track has a main straight of over one kilometre and artificial grass surrounding the course to stop nearby desert sand reaching the circuit.
Following Qatar, the next stop for the MotoGP tournament will be Jerez in Spain on March 25th.
