It was an action-packed race at Jerez this weekend as Valentino Rossi cruised to victory in what he called "a great race".
The Yamaha rider told the championship's official website that his success was down to a "great start" and making no mistakes, while expressing his delight at having team-mate Colin Edwards join him on the podium after taking third place.
"Qatar was good but to taste victory again is a wonderful feeling," he said. "I knew that to win I would have to ride at the maximum, but today my Yamaha really flew."
Meanwhile, Jerez was also the site of a change in the MotoGP World Championship's rules, which now allow riders to practice starting the race after the warm-up period.
This involves the pit lane exit closing, enabling riders to complete one lap of the circuit before practising how they will begin the race from the first row of the starting grid.
April 22nd sees the next round of the tournament in Istanbul, Turkey.
