Bayliss compares injuries to 'mafia punishment'

Ducati rider Troy Bayliss is set to race this weekend in Valencia at the World Superbike Championship, after sustaining injuries at Donington Park two weeks ago.
And while he's been declared fit to ride at the Spanish circuit, the defending title holder is making light of his accident at the British track, saying they resembled something a mafia mob might have done to him.
"If you looked at me you wouldn't think I'd been in a motorbike accident," he remarked, following the amputation of his little finger and a nasty bruising in - wait for it - the groin, which is probably just as painful as it sounds.
"You'd think I hadn't paid some bill and the mafia had come and chopped one finger off with a pair of scissors and hit my nuts with a hammer because I haven't got another mark on my body," Troy joked.
The amputation of the top two parts of his little finger came after it was trapped beneath his bike in the crash, which happened during the sixth lap of the race.
