Gearing up for this weekend's MotoGP third round is reigning champion Nicky Hayden, who is preparing to race at the Istanbul track on an 800cc bike for the first time.
Scheduled for this coming Sunday, the Istanbul circuit was described as a "cool track" by the Kentucky-born rider, speaking to local press on Thursday morning and reported on the championship's official website.
Indeed, Hayden, who came third at Istanbul Park last year, said fans watching at home might not see how tricky yet exciting the racetrack is - particularly noting the first turn, a downhill left-hander.
"Turn One's really technical and television doesn't really do that corner justice," he said. "People at home don't really see how blind the entry is."
Hayden also remarked that he was looking forward to the race, which is to be followed on May 6th by the Grand Prix of China.
