BMW bike is back

A new motorbike which was first glimpsed two months ago has finally been unveiled by BMW with a plan to race the model at next week's Puerto Lumbreras track.

While BMW attempted to keep details of the Sportenduro 450 secret, some titbits of information emerged a few months back when it originally made an appearance. But regardless, it's sure to be launched at the Spanish race with style.

MCN reports that the 450cc off-roader, which is a single-cylinder model, will keep the fabulous red, white and blue colour scheme used at the manufacturer's Munich production facility.

And Belgian motocross rider Joel Smets will be the lucky guy debuting the bike, in addition to German rider Sascha Eckert.

Puerto Lumbreras is situated in the sunny region of Murcia in Spain and also forms part of the Vuelta a Espana cycle race.
