If a new motorcycle helmet is on your shopping list then a list of top-rated models may be the ideal guide to choosing the right one.
All given five stars out of five by readers of the Motorcycle News (MCN) website, the number one position is taken by the Suomy Extreme Helmet, which retails at £400 and has a composite fibre shell with a removable lining and quick-release visor.
The Airoh Matisse Flip-Front Helmet comes in second place, with a price tag of £119.99 and features such as a chin-strap buckle, cheek pads and a thermoplastic shell.
A number of colour options are available for the next most popular - the Shark RSX Helmet. Black, Blue, Silver or Floret/Chambon replicas are the choices for all keen riders, who can expect to pay £250 for this particular model.
The AGV K Series Helmet and the KBC VR-1 take fourth and fifth places and cost £119.99 and £159.99 respectively, with notable features of the former being a seatbelt-style buckle and of the latter a tricomposite shell.
Recent motorcycle news includes the victory of Casey Stoner at the Istanbul track in Turkey, where he took first place in the MotoGP Championship's third round.
