The new generation of KTM EXC Sport Enduro off-roaders has been premiered at the Madrid Mas Moto event. KTM's completely redesigned range includes new frame tubes, swing-arm design, lighter wheels, cooling system and bodywork. The stars of the 2008 models, according to the company, are two brand-new four-stroke machines, the 450 EXC-R and the 530 EXC-R. A KTM spokesman said: "Lighter, with a significantly increased rideability and even more consistency in many details, the new EXC-R models are the pure embodiment of the entire KTM Enduro knowledge and technical skills on two wheels." Improvements to the smaller bikes include a new piston, engine casing and ignition to the 125 and changes to the cases and ignition, plus a new CDI unit for the 200 and 250 two-strokes. The 300 EXC-E has acquired an electric start, new cylinder and crankshaft plus alterations to the crankcase and ignition. KTM states another attraction of the bikes is that they all comply with the legal Euro3 emission limits. The collection will be released in Spain in June.
