A product aimed at reducing the risk of injury to motorcyclists has been launched by BMW Motorrad.
The Neck Brace System fits around a rider's shoulders underneath the crash helmet and works to restrain the head if it moves excessively in a different direction.
It is also intended to absorb any downward force on the helmet which could affect the spine and potentially cause injuries.
Describing the device as a "revolutionary move" in the motorcycle safety industry, Conrad Parker, national aftersales manager of BMW Motorrad told Easier: "I am in no doubt that riders the world over will put safety first and welcome the benefits this protective equipment offers."
BMW Motorrad maintains that the system is suitable for all bikers, in addition to child and pillion riders.
