Ducati Marlboro man Casey Stoner saw off close competition from Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa this weekend as he stormed to victory at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.
Finishing his laps of the 4,727-metre track in a time of 43 minutes and 16.907 seconds, Stoner - who now sits 14 points above Rossi in the MotoGP Championship rankings - took his fourth win of the season so far.
However, while Australian Stoner told the official MotoGP website that the first part of the race was "quiet", Rossi and Pedrosa forced him to up his game and go for the pole position.
"I was just trying to set a pace without pushing too much," he said. "Dani and Valentino caught up to me and started applying the pressure."
While Stoner heads up the current championship table, Ducati also leads the constructor and team rankings with 143 and 197 points respectively.
Next on the MotoGP calendar is the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix, scheduled for June 24th at the legendary Donington Park.
