Glamourpuss reveals bike history

Glamorous ex-Bond girl Honor Blackman may not be the first person you would expect to be a fan of motorbikes, but a recent interview saw her admit she used to spend quite a lot of time on them.

Blackman, who played Pussy Galore in the classic 1960s spy adventure Goldfinger, told the Yorkshire Post of her time during the second world war as a civil servant, ferrying medical supplies around on the back of a motorcycle.

"I did indeed ride a motorbike," she divulged. "They dubbed me 'Top Gear Tessie'."

However, post-wartime, Blackman - who also starred in The Avengers - said she used a bike for quite different reasons, including running her children to school when they were late.

"They were terribly embarrassed, having their mum take them to school on a motorbike."

In Goldfinger, Pussy Galore headed up a group of all-girl pilots and co-starred opposite Sean Connery.
