Commuters who get to work by car could find they save some time during the week if they switch to a motorbike, according to new research.
A survey from the RAC found that car drivers could cut their travelling time by a total of three hours per week if they changed from four wheels to two, Motorcycle News reports.
In addition, one-fifth of motorists said they were envious of scooter and motorbike riders who can weave through the traffic and avoid most congestion.
A similar report recently published by the RAC claimed that driving remained a fundamental part of people's lives, with eight per cent of respondents saying they never walked anywhere.
However, some 57 per cent of motorists agreed that tougher action is needed to combat congestion, but 30 per cent supported road pricing initiatives which could help to reduce traffic.
