The father of British Supermoto champion Lewis Cornish is searching for an area of disused land that can be transformed into a motorcycle track to be used by young motor sport enthusiasts.
Dave Cornish is hoping to find an airfield or farmland that is no longer in use in the Great Yarmouth area that can provide an alternative for young motorbike riders who are currently riding illegally on land near to a motorway, the Great Yarmouth Mercury reports.
"You should get test certificates and insurance to go to proper events, but the thing is there are kids going around with no helmets and no safety certificates," Mr Cornish told the newspaper.
The present situation, which is having an impact on local residents, is "madness" he added.
In related news, a new scheme has been launched in Norwich aimed at helping young people to train for the motor trade, Evening News 24 reports.
Organisers of the Open Road scheme have appeal to mechanics to send unwanted motorcycle parts to be used by those participating in the project.
