Motorcycle insurance customers may be interested to hear about a new pamphlet containing free advice on safer riding.
Road safety group GEM Motoring Assist has published the pocket-sized leaflet, which gives tips on group riding and filtering - the process used by bikers to move through stationary traffic.
The aim of the information is to help riders reduce the number of risks they face on the road and help them to know more about the law and potential hazards.
It may also be useful for new bikers who are looking for a suitable motorcycle insurance policy and want to improve their driving skills and minimise the chance of having to make a claim.
"We believe the leaflet will assist riders in balancing the relative risks and benefits of filtering," said Martin Cooke, former police motorcyclist and GEM's chairman of the trustees. He also wrote the leaflet.
"We hope this leaflet will help riders of all skill levels to stay as safe as possible in a group riding environment," he added.
In related news, last week saw celebrity biker Ewan McGregor finish his voyage from John O'Groats to South Africa.
He undertook the challenge with companion Charley Boorman, following their previous success on a round-the-world motorbike trip.
