A once in a lifetime opportunity to ride the famous Dakar Rally route is being offered to motorcyclists.
Nearly 90 people will get the chance to take part in the event in 2008, which is being run by Riders 4 Rights to help motorcycle charity Riders For Health.
Interested riders are advised to contact Riders 4 Rights to obtain more information on the project, which will take place in January, April and October next year.
Former 500cc GP star Randy Mamola told MotorcycleNews: "What Riders 4 Rights are doing is awesome. This is a way to have fun and save lives in Africa. This is a way to show the world what bikers and biking is all about."
Those wishing to take part in the scheme may be advised to ensure that their motorcycle insurance covers them while they are abroad.
It was recently announced that U2 frontman Bono has donated his Ducati 916 bike to Riders For Health and it will be auctioned by the organisation to raise money for health workers in Africa.
