A hotel in Hatfield Heath has won an award for being the most pet friendly place to stay in the UK.
Winning the AA Pet Friendly Hotel Award 2006-07 was Down Hall Country House, which beat more than 700 competitors to win the title, reports The Citizen.
The title, which is decided by a number of mystery shopper-type inspectors who take their pooches to stay at the hotels under consideration, was given to Down Hall because of its many dog-friendly features.
On arrival, dog owners receive a "Doggy Pack", with a bowl, a number of treats and a list of "dos and don'ts" for canine companions.
In addition, the furry friends are permitted to sleep next to their owners in the hotel's guestroom.
"We've put in a lot of effort into creating a quality experience for all our guests, including those with their dogs," said Simon Scarborough, hotel operations director.
Owners who want to ensure their pet's health as well as their accommodation comfort can invest in pet insurance, which could cover a various amount of veterinary bills and immunisations.
