PDSA reminds pet owners to 'be responsible'

Owners of dogs throughout the UK are being reminded by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) to take responsibility of their pets and take the necessary steps to ensure they are as well-behaved as possible.
Dog owners, who may find pet insurance to be a suitable option for covering their pet's health, are urged to consider the effect their pooch might have on others if it is not properly trained.
Elaine Pendlebury, senior veterinary surgeon at the PDSA, said: "Dogs give us so much and provide such wonderful joy and companionship and we owe it to them and society to ensure they are well-behaved."
The PDSA recommends that dogs should be trained to be sociable and fit into their environment in order to be as friendly and unthreatening as possible to other humans and dogs alike.
Pet insurance could provide owners with a useful way to make sure their loved one keeps healthy, as many plans cover the cost of veterinary appointments, vaccinations and medical treatment.
