'Ensure pet health before travelling'

Dog and cat owners planning to take their pets with them on holiday are being advised to make sure all health matters are updated before the trip.
According to the Arizona Republic, more and more pets are being treated to a break but there are some important things to consider before departing.
The newspaper suggested updating all pet immunisations prior to the holiday - which may be covered by some pet insurance plans.
In addition, it recommends obtaining a certificate proving the animal's health, which could be imperative depending on the method of travel or destination.
Other tips include preparing early and making sure adequate food is accessible in case luggage is lost or travel plans are altered unexpectedly.
Updating or taking out a pet insurance policy may also be advisable before a trip as it could protect against big bills should medical care be required.
