Flabby feline faces strict diet

A fat cat that was fed treats and scraps by his owner faces a strict diet, lots of exercise and tender loving care to get in shape, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Weighing in at some 15 lbs, Silver the cat's weight increased after being overly-fed by his owner and doing very little in the way of exercise. Since his owner recently died, Silver is now in the care of the RSPCA which aims to get him back in shape.
Melissa Furey, RSPCA inspector, told the Manchester Evening News: "He needs lots of exercise, a well-balanced diet with no treats and lots of TLC so he needs someone who's going to treat him mean and get him lean."
Pets that are allowed to become overweight through poor diet and lack of exercise can become sick and may require costly trips to the vet. Taking out adequate pet insurance can provide a way to avoid these pricey procedures.
Cats Protection recently recommended ample pet insurance for animals, irrespective of their ages.
