More than 1,000 dogs are set to take part in the Blue Cross's 12th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day, it has been announced.
September 14th will see canine-loving employees raising money for the charity which cares for homeless and sick animals.
A range of workplaces will see new additions for the day, which is sponsored by Hills Pet Nutrition.
Chief veterinary surgeon at the Blue Cross animal hospital Caroline Raey told K9 Magazine: "It might not be practical for you to always take your dog to work with you, but this event enables you to give your dog a new experience and different mental stimulus for the day."
Ms Raey added that having your dog with you encourages you to take a break to walk your animal, meaning exercise for both pet and owner.
Exercise helps to prevent animals from becoming overweight and ill, which may result in the need for an expensive pet insurance claim.
The Blue Cross is a charity that provides advice, information and support for pet owners.
