September is Pet Smile Month

Throughout September, almost 1,500 veterinary facilities across the UK are offering free dental health checkups for your animals as part of Pet Smile Month.

According to the campaign, some 80 per cent of domestic animals over the age of three are suffering from painful and illness-causing dental diseases, the majority of which are treatable and preventable.

Comprehensive pet insurance will ensure that if pets are found to require a medical procedure - such as one that may stem from oral diseases - potentially expensive veterinary bills are easier to deal with.

Pet Smile Month aims to raise awareness of the dangers of dental diseases in animals and the problems they can cause, as well as encouraging owners to be proactive in preventing oral illnesses from occurring.

Last week saw offices across the country filled with canines as the country celebrated The Blue Cross's annual Take Your Dog to Work Day.
