Pets rescued from burning house

Four pets were rescued from a burning house by fire crews from Chesterfield and Clay Cross, it has been reported.
Two cats and a pair of rats were in an upstairs bedroom but were carried to safety by the emergency services, according to the Derbyshire Times.
Watch manager at Chesterfield fire station Glyn Davidson told the publication that a large amount of smoke meant that firemen had to use breathing apparatus to bring the animals out of the burning structure.
"Luckily they had got smoke alarms which operated and not only alerted the family but also their neighbours who had come to check everything was alright," he added.
Pets that are involved in unforeseen accidents may require veterinary attention and as such comprehensive pet insurance may provide animal owners with a means to reduce or avoid costly bills should their furry friend require a medical procedure.
Childsafe advises that owners should not attempt to rescue animals from burning buildings and that they should wait for fire crews to do so.
