Flat full of pets and people saved during blaze

A number of people and their pets were saved from a fire at a block of flats in Gravesend, it has been reported.
The four-storey building contained four children, five adults along with a cat, a rabbit, a puppy, three rats and five hamsters, reports the News Shopper.
Owner of the menagerie Sam Davis told the publication she was very scared but that her main concern was the wellbeing of the animals.
"My cat started crying out and there was loads of smoke," she said.
The newspaper reports that all the pets were removed by fire crews and were carried to a neighbour's house to keep them safe.
Animals that might have suffered from smoke inhalation due to fires could require veterinary procedures, which can be costly. Pet insurance may provide a way for animal-lovers to concentrate on caring for their animals rather than worrying about medical bills.
It was recently reported in the Derbyshire Times that four animals were rescued from a burning house by fire crews in Chesterfield.
