Pet motel 'ready to open'

Plans for a proposed pet motel in Cumbria are expected to be given the green light by the local authority, it has been reported.

A potting shed in Winscales in Egremont is to become a kennel for 19 dogs if approval is granted by councillors, according to the Times and Star.

Local businessman Alfie Parker has permission to set up a crematorium across the road from his present business at Gale Brow Nurseries.

Comprehensive pet insurance may provide a way for consumers to avoid costly veterinary bills should their animal become sick while at home or in accommodation such as a pet motel or other kennels.

It was recently reported in the News Shopper that nine people, a rabbit, a puppy, a cat, three rats and five hamsters were rescued by fire crews from a burning block of flats in Gravesend - avoiding the need for pet insurance claims and injuries.
