Pets marry on World Animal Day

A church full of animals received blessings from a Catholic priest on World Animal Day on October 4th, it has been reported.
The Daily Mail states that pets were even able to get married in a special weddings zone set up at the event, led by Reverend Pierre Valkering.
The feast day of patron saint of animals Francis of Assisi provided the inspiration for the service.
Holy water was sprinkled into a goldfish bowl and a cocker spaniel tried to drink some of the blessed liquid, the publication reports.
Consumers wishing to ensure that potentially expensive veterinary bills are less of a concern may benefit from taking out comprehensive pet insurance, allowing them to focus on caring for their animal.
World Animal Day's organisers state that the event aims to acknowledge the roles animals play in the lives of humans and to celebrate the relationship between humans and the animal kingdom.
