"Bionic cat" survives second fall

A lucky feline has been dubbed a "bionic cat" after surviving two falls from a second-storey window.
Following a fall from a window in September, Baby the cat was rushed to the vet where she was treated for multiple injuries including fractures to both back legs.
She was fitted with metal plates and screws to help her heal and vets were surprised to find another set of implants in her front legs, which she had fitted after a similar fall when she was a kitten.
The feline has therefore been dubbed the "bionic" cat by staff at the London facility.
Blue Cross chief veterinary surgeon Jess Gower comments: "She's had two lucky escapes but needs to be very careful to keep her remaining lives intact."
Due to the potentially costly nature of unexpected veterinary procedures, it may be advisable for consumers to invest in comprehensive pet insurance.
