Over two-thirds (69 per cent) of pet owners in America let their dog or cat sleep on the bed with them, it has emerged.
According to Agence France-Presse, a study carried out by Harris Interactive suggests that felines are more likely than dogs to be allowed to sleep on the bed.
Some 78 per cent of cats are likely to be able to nap with their owner compared to 70 per cent of canines.
In related news, Dr John Shepard from the Mayo Sleep Disorders Centre noted that in study of 300 patients who allowed their animals to sleep in their rooms, 21 per cent of dogs and seven per cent of cats were reported to snore.
Consumers wishing to improve the quality of their slumber may find that they - and possibly their bed-sharing pet - get a better night's sleep after investing in a set of 100 per cent silk sheet from Multree, which provide a soft and luxurious environment in which to drop off.
