RSPCA launches slim pet campaign

Animal charity the RSPCA has teamed up with television vet Joe Inglis to set up a resource to help flabby cats and tubby dogs lose some weight.
Pets Get Slim aims to educate owners on the potential dangers of overfeeding and under-exercising their animals.
In recent research, the site notes that almost seven in ten (69 per cent) of the nation's dogs are overweight, while 95 per cent of cats were found to be larger than they should be.
Mr Inglis gives a few hints and tips on how to make the festive season a healthier one for domestic animals, such as investing in cat nip or balls for felines to ensure they get some exercise and taking dogs on walks to burn off any extra pounds.
The RSPCA recently stated that it is "extremely important" for owners to invest in pet insurance to help them cope with any unforeseen veterinary bills.
