It's a dog's life at Christmas

A puppy has lost one of his eyes after an encounter with a Christmas tree.
Marley's left eye was pierced by a rogue pine needle and he was rushed to an animal hospital by his owner after she realised that could not stop blinking.
Trainee vet Milly Parfitt took the ten-month pointer in for an emergency operation, where his eye had to be removed.
Ms Parfitt told thisisgloucestershire.co.uk that Marley will have more presents than anyone to help him recover from the incident.
"I've bought him a new basket, two new cuddly toys and a stocking for Christmas to try and make him feel better. I have replaced the real tree with an artificial one now. It was just too dangerous. He doesn't like Christmas trees any more and stays well away from it," she stated.
The RSPCA recently stated that it is "extremely important" for owners to have pet insurance to help with the costs of unanticipated veterinary bills.
