Pets lose pounds

Residents of Dursley in Gloucestershire can help their pets shed the pounds by taking them to Vale Vets animal health club, it has been reported.
The fit club is intended to improve the health of pets and many locals have praised the work nurses do at the club in giving advice, supporting animals with their diets and running daily appointments.
Local resident Judy Barnfield told the Dursley Gazette that Vale Vets had made a huge difference to her seven-year-old golden retriever Spencer.
She recounted how vets had said that his overweight frame would take two years off his life but after following a strict regime provided by the vets, Spencer had lost over a stone in weight and showed remarkable improvements in health.
For those pet owners who have overweight animals it is crucial that adequate pet insurance is taken out as medical bills can often run up very quickly.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's Pet Insurance revealed recently that nearly four million pet owners have had a cat or dog go missing in the last five years.
