Dogs 'drive owners round the bend'

Motorists in Greater Manchester who do not make sure their dogs are safe when travelling in a vehicle with them have been chastised by a road safety campaign.
Drivesafe states that an unrestrained animal which becomes spooked while in a car can try to get on to its owner's lap, which could impair their ability to drive.
A spokesperson for the scheme told the Manchester Evening News: "Drivers need to take responsibility for everyone and everything in their cars, including pets."
The opinion of the campaign is that all pets should be secured in a carrier, crate, seatbelt harness or behind a dog guard.
A poster campaign has been launched warning road users that in a 30 mph crash a pet can be thrown forward, risking injury to itself and its owner.
Consumers looking to help keep their animals safe may well find that pet insurance also helps keep their furry friends protected.
Pet insurance provider LV= recently stated that cover for a domestic animal is an important product for owners to have.
