'Keep pet love in the air'

The RSPCA is calling on pet lovers with extra-big hearts to think about taking in more than one animal that needs a new home this Valentine's Day.

Jackie Lines, manager of the RSPCA's animal centre in Birmingham, states that many animals come to the facility together and enjoy being in each other's company they do everything they can to avoid splitting them up.

She explains that in many cases they receive animals from the same family that are inseparable and as such they

"Animals do pine when they lose their soulmate so we are always looking for potential new owners who are willing to adopt more than one animal," Ms Lines adds.

People taking a new furry friend into their home were recently advised by pet charity PDSA that they should carry out thorough research before acquiring a furry friend as certain breeds are more susceptible to illnesses, which could result in the need to make a pet insurance claim.
