Pet Idol competition voting nears end

Residents in Wales still have time to vote for their favourite pet in the annual Pet Idol 2008 competition, hosted by the South Wales Echo.

There have been over 1,000 entrants for the competition, with staff at the Echo overwhelmed by photos of people's fine felines and cuddly canines, as well as a number of more exotic and unusual animals.

After many hours of deliberation, the judges have made the decision on the top ten list. It is now up to the public to pick the overall winner.

The top three pets will all win prizes, with the lucky Pet Idol 2008 receiving £250 in supermarket vouchers.

A professional photographer will also provide the winners' owners with framed pictures of their prized pets.

Webfluff.com is also offering pet-owners the chance to enter their beloved animals in a free competition which will see the winner receive an oil painting, as well as a dedicated webpage for their animal.
