Thousands of dogs will be hoping for two things as Crufts was launched today - to win best in class and to be named best in show.
Recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest dog show and organised by the Kennel Club, details of this year's Crufts were officially announced at London's Green Park this morning.
Owners will be starting preparations early, making sure their pooches are primped, preened, pampered, fit and healthy, and have full pet insurance - sometimes for thousands of pounds - in anticipation of this year's event.
Last year's winner, Tibetan terrier Araki Fabulous Willy - or Willy to his friends - was presented with his best in show rosette in front of an audience of 6,600 dog lovers at Birmingham's NEC arena, in front of proud owners John Shaw and Neil Smith.
The event will open its doors to 153,000 human visitors and 22,964 dogs from March 6th - 8th.
